I am absolutely elated! My first real deep sky images. I finally managed some decent dark frames to subtract from my images. This is M13 and M31 through my Orion ShortTube 80mm refractor mounted piggyback on a C8 taken with a modified Quickcam and QCV2, processed with DarkGen.

M13, 30 second exposure
M31, 30 second exposure.
This is an example of just how much noise the uncooled quickcam introduces into the image. Its very substantial. I'm not sure if I can do any faint nebulosity with this kind of noise, there won't be much left!
Today's raw, unprocessed images.
